Exporting Your Expenses to Quicken
Xpenser supports exporting your expenses via the QIF format, which can be imported by Quicken, Microsoft Money, and a host of other applications.
To export your expenses, select the “Export: Quicken (QIF)” option from the Expense tab:

Save the resulting file to disk, and from Quicken use the File->Import->QIF File option to import it.
Note that starting with Quicken 2005 the option for importing data via QIF was removed for most account types. If you are using Quicken 2005 or newer, create a new Cash account: Add Account->”This account is not held at a financial institution”->Cash Flow/Cash. You’ll be able to import your expenses to this account.
If needed, you can move your expenses to your other accounts by selecting the expenses, right-clicking, and selecting “Move Transactions”.

Is there a way to mark which expenses have been exported?
Christian, the common method is to create another report and move the exported reports into it. For example, you could have the reports:
Personal Expenses Current
Personal Expenses August
You can record the expenses into the “Current” report, and once you’re ready to process it (eg. export it), move them into the the “August” report. That way you have your expenses packaged for easy tracking later.
I think it would be a sensible addition to allow this transfer to proceed both ways, i.e., provide an “Import” feature to match the “Export” feature.
This may sound less useful because Xpenser is usually used as the data gathering and aggregating tool, but consider the fact that there is an interface in place from Xpenser to the invoicing capability of Freshbooks.
If expenses are already being tracked by an external application, importing this data into Xpenser would provide a valuable conduit into Freshbooks.

Gary, import capability is requested surprisingly frequently and is on our roadmap to implement. Keep an eye on the blog for the announcement.
