International Timezone Support For Your Expenses
Having failed to convince everyone in the world to adopt Pacific Standard Time, we’ve finally caved in and implemented international timezone support. You may have noticed that Xpenser used to assume you are in US/Pacific timezone, leading to your expenses sometimes showing up on the day before or after you actually submitted them.
Inaccurate dates are now a thing of the past. Set your timezone via the Account Settings page and see Xpenser get smarter about your dates.
Our efforts to get the whole world to adopt a single currency and date format are not going very well either, so we may have to support internationalization of those in an upcoming release as well. Leave a comment here or write us at feedback@xpenser.com if you’re interested in internationalization and want us to give it more priority.

I do quite a bit of international travel, and would find either being able to mark an expense with the currency used, or even better, converting currencies with the exchange rate on the day of the expense really helpful.
Hi - I’d love to see internationalization of currency. Often my expenses may be made up of GBP, Euros, USDs etc. all of which need submitting under a single currency. If it could mark expenses in different currencies that would be great.
I also like Wayne’s idea that it would automatically convert currencies, but if so there should also be a manual over-ride because the theoretical rate on a part of the given day may not be the same as you had to pay e.g. in the airport.
Alternatively, I wish you the best in your effort to get the world to convert to a single currency!
Hello,
I would appreciate this service if I can set a base currency for the report. Submitting values in various currencies is good, but making reports in the user currency is as much as good and useful. I don’t believe a startup has many chance if targeting the us market only in the global world economy!
BTW, I notice a thread “Actually We’re in San Diego” where you mention the work all night in the pacific time zone and in which you mention in “… in the good old U.S. of A.”
* good is challenged by many people and community out of U.S. of A. - even if I do not personally challenge it!
* old is a clear lack of world history knowledge (Writing from a country who wrote its initial constitution in 1291 AC)
Well… so think global guys and THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT JOB!
(By the way, we launched automated currency conversion some time ago).
Eric, much thanks for the feedback. Our outlook for Xpenser is certainly global, and we’ll be introducing internationalization features on an incremental basis.
Regarding base currency - we’re working on adding the ability to set your base currency to something other than US Dollars. Keep an eye on the blog for the announcement.
Internationalized dates are also on the way…
Great news. Many thanks! Will keep an eye on the service evolution.
Question :
1) Base currrency will be avaible as a matter of days, weeks, or months ?
2) When you will implement it, will it allow to get the previously entered amounts converted ?
Dates would be great as in my case the information is switched when imported by mmoney…
